This is a who is who and what is what for those that are canon blind, and those that might need a refresher. Mostly linked to the wiki, which is fairly decent, with some commentary.

TIMELINE
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Jack Sparrow: Early 1700s. Details the early life of Jack Sparrow, along with a few things as to what was shaking in the world of the pirates, with a focus on a teenage Jack's adventures. How he got his gold teeth, the first run in with Cortez and the mess he left behind, along with the Trident of Poseidon.

The Price Of Freedom: Around 1730. Goes into Jack's time as an EITC agent, how he met his future mutinous first mate, Hector Barbossa, why he went to work with the EITC in the first place, how he got the Black Pearl, and his deal with Davy Jones.

Legends Of The Brethren Court: Early 1730s. Accounts of the Shadow Lord (also known as Henry Morgan) and the mysterious Shadow Gold. Jack starting his habit of slowing dying and not telling anyone. Hector Barbossa's time as Jack Sparrow's first mate. Set in the two years before the infamous mutiny.

Curse Of The Black Pearl: Mid 1740s. Jack Sparrow arrives in Port Royal to acquire a ship to go after a cursed Hector Barbossa. Meets Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. A fight with Barbossa, Barbossa's men, and the Royal Navy results in the curse being broken, the crew of the Pearl being jailed, Barbossa dying, and Jack nearly being hung and saved at the eleventh hour by Will.

Dead Man's Chest: Mid 1740s. Jack's deal with Davy Jones is up and he's given the black spot. The kraken is set after him. Will and Elizabeth are condemned to death for helping him and both make their way to him at separate times. Cutler Beckett is starting to horn in on the Caribbean. Jack is taken by the kraken thanks to Elizabeth's betrayal. Hector Barbossa is revealed to be resurrected from death and a plan to retrieve Jack from Davy Jones's Locker is formed.

At World's End: Late 1740s. The Mao Kun Map is acquired from the Pirate Lord of Singapore, Sao Feng and Barbossa & Company set out for the Locker. Culter Beckett now has control of Jones's heart, and thus the Dutchman, and intends to destroy piracy once and for all. Barbossa kills the entire crew to get them to the Locker. They rescue Jack, arguments are had, the pirates meet at Shipwreck Cove, and Elizabeth Swann is elected Pirate King of the 4th Brethren Court. The Pearl faces off in a maelstrom against the Flying Dutchman, Will Turner is killed and Jack uses his hand to stab Davy Jones's heart, disposing of Jones. Will is now the Dutchman's captain, and with the Pearl defeats Beckett. Everyone parties in Tortuga.
